With floor to ceiling views over 50 acres of cabernet grapes to the Great Dividing Range, Stones of the Yarra Valley has developed an outstanding reputation for its eclectic menu, extensive regional wine list and impeccable service. With two superb venues, The Barn and The Stables now open throughout the year, Stones of the Yarra Valley has evolved into one of the region’s must-experience food and wine destinations.

Stones is located in an old 1850s barn in the middle of the lush Yarra Valley countryside and boasts the grandiose feel of a cathedral, or perhaps merely a temple to good food. The light-filled space is crisscrossed with sturdy beams and pillars, with the tables lined up on either side of the room, leaving a dramatic aisle-like empty space in between. While the venue is ideal for weddings (there’s a chapel on-site) and other events, the restaurant is a worthy destination for lunching on chef Dale Prentice’s regional lunch platters or indulging in decadent feasts. For example, on certain Sundays, well-known Melbourne chef Greg Malouf puts on an enormous banquet of Middle Eastern mezze plates.
