Stones of the Yarra Valley
Stones is located in an old 1850s barn in the middle of the lush Yarra Valley countryside and boasts the grandiose feel of a cathedral, or perhaps merely a temple to good food. The light-filled space is crisscrossed with sturdy beams and pillars, with the tables lined up on either side of the room, leaving a dramatic aisle-like empty space in between. While the venue is ideal for weddings (there's a chapel on-site) and other events, the restaurant is a worthy destination for lunching on chef Dale Prentice's regional lunch platters or indulging in decadent feasts. For example, on certain Sundays, well-known Melbourne chef Greg Malouf puts on an enormous banquet of Middle Eastern mezze plates.
